Flickr

After a chance encounter with another extremely craft minded person, and now new friend, I decided to give Flickr a try for some jewelry pictures. I soon fell in love with the site and the way it organizes the pictures. You should see a posting a pictures from Flickr on the right side of this page. I set it to the maximum photos allowed by WordPress’ widget settings, so there will always be jewelry pictures. Many of the items can still be found on my website and now in my store; however, some have already been sold and I can not promise availability on any item now that I am selling in three locations.

In other news, the store is moving along toward the opening. I cannot believe that it is only four days away! I do hope that if you’re in the area, you will stop by to see the shop in person. The pictures do not compare to the real thing.

Artist Bio:

Cassandra Fogal was born in Kitchener, Ontario. She is the first child of 2 and is a bona fide military brat. Raised all across Ontario and Valcartier, Quebec, moving and travel became a regular part of her life from the very beginning.

Music, Art and Writing are interests that piqued very early on and have always remained a driving force in her life. She took an interest in photography at the age of 9 when her grandfather gave her an old 110 film camera by Kodak. Eventually she moved on to a 35mm film camera and spent many long hours photographing nature and her family. In highschool, she was able to study photography and was finally introduced to an slr in the form of an old Nikkormat. She gained experience in the darkroom and her love affair with photography was oficially solidified.

Today, Cassandra is married and has a beautiful 13 month old daughter. Mainly working independently from home, she offers a very caring and comfortabe environment for her clients. Branching out into fine art photography is a goal and lifetime dream. She continues to evolve as a photographer and works mainly with digital images, though she still has a fondness for working with film.

Reminder for Upcoming Event

The other day I received a letter from Mona at the Cambrian Heritage Society in Madison, WI.  She received the necklace set that I donated to the upcoming MadCeltFest on June 21.  I just wanted to post a quick reminder to everyone about this important event.

\"Welsh Dragon Necklace\"

This is the necklace that will be auctioned at the upcoming event.  It is made of Swarovski Pearls in two shades of silver and Cubic Zirconia beads in Jet.  The center pendant is a large Welsh Dragon pewter pendant.  The necklace has an adjustable length and measures 18″ at it’s longest.  Retail value for this set (earrings not shown) is approximately $65.

Upcoming Event – Hackettstown Fiesta, May 3, 2008

It’s hard to believe that April is already half over, but here it is officially feeling like spring complete with plans for upcoming events in May!

Saturday, May 3, 2008 Nanuk’s Igloo will be taking part in the second annual Hackettstown Fiesta.  I will have a table set up outside Kathy’s Kove & Kafe’ on Main Street.

The following information comes from the official Hackettstown Business Improvement website:

Hackettstown Fiesta

by BID Staff on March 26, 2008 at 12:30 pm

The Hackettstown Fiesta this year is Saturday May 3, 2008 from 11am-6pm. We are encouraging everyone to come join in on the sidewalk sales, live entertainment, and other events throughout the day all over the business district.

We will be having two Trolleys that will take people down Stiger Street through Main Street and onto Mountain Ave. Restaurants will be bringing their food outside and letting people get a taste of their restaurant style. One of the trolleys will also take part in a scavenger hunt where people can win prizes.

Sidewalk Sale
This year we are promoting a sidewalk sale for all businesses to take part in. All businesses along Main Street are encouraged to come outside with their best for all to see. Businesses not along Main Street will be given a place in the center of town where they can also show off their products. Eateries along Main Street will be bringing out samples for all to enjoy.

Just in time for St. David’s Day

I wanted to post a quick note about an upcoming event that I am lucky enough to have been asked to take part in.  Last night I received an email from the  in Madison, Wisconsin.  This June they will be holding their MadCeltFest and during this event they will also be holding an auction where they will feature various items of Celtic origin.  One of those items will be a specially designed Welsh Dragon necklace supplied by me!  I’m pretty excited to have been asked to help spread Welsh heritage awareness.  I am very proud of my Scots Irish background, but believe that more people need to know that the Irish and Scottish aren’t the only Celts out there.  So, if you are in the Madison, Wisconsin area this June 21, please think about stopping by this fabulous event and this March 1, don’t forget to celebrate the patron saint of Wales, St. David.
